Description of skills

I have completed my PhD in Mechanical Engineering at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, where my research focused on failure mechanisms and life estimation of titanium-based biomedical materials. My doctoral work involved an integrated experimental and computational approach, including tensile, fatigue and fracture testing, mechanical and electrochemical characterization, crack-growth analysis, and numerical modelling.

Following my PhD, I have been involved in two DRDO/AR&DB-funded research projects:

• At NIT Warangal, I worked on the GTRE–DRDO project titled “Exploratory Studies on Effect of Fatigue and Hold Time on Crack Growth Behaviour of GTM Ti-64 Alloy.” My work involved experimental investigation of fatigue and fracture behaviour under different stress/load ratios, hold times and elevated temperatures, including studies related to fatigue–creep interaction. I have also carried out post-test characterization using SEM, EDS and microscopic fractography of both as-received and fractured surfaces.

• Currently, as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at IIT Mandi, I am working on an AR&DB/DRDO-funded project titled “Development of Phase-Field Modeling and Machine Learning-Based Approaches for the Fracture Analysis of Composite Structures under Multiphysics Loadings.” This work involves phase-field fracture modelling, multiphysics simulations and machine-learning-based approaches for fracture analysis.

In addition to my research experience, I have substantial hands-on experimental experience with tensile, fatigue and fracture testing using an Instron 8801 and ZwickRoell, including testing under different stress ratios, hold times and elevated temperatures. I have experience in SEM, EDS, optical microscopy, microscopic fractography, surface profilometry, Vickers microhardness, wear and scratch testing, electrochemical/corrosion characterisation, and wettability/contact-angle measurements. My computational experience includes ABAQUS, ANSYS, MATLAB, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, PTC Creo and other engineering simulation tools, as well as experience with XFEM and phase-field fracture modelling.
