KOMPAS-3D for Beginners
About Course
This course is designed to familiarize you with KOMPAS-3D – Computer-Aided Design (CAD) solution for mechanical engineering.
KOMPAS-3D offers powerful functionality for project management, including handling thousands of sub-assemblies, parts and standard products. It supports all the 3D modeling capabilities that have become standard in CAD systems.
You will get familiar with the Kompas-3D interface and the basics operating priniciples in this CAD system.
You will create several 3D-models from scratch, including the bracket, the branch pipe and the regulator handle.
In this course, you will:
- design parametric sketches,
- add constraints to sketch elements to fully define them
- use basic 3d modelling operations such as extrusion by direction, extrusion by path, and rotation to add volume,
- edit your model by adding chamfers, fillets, and holes, mirroring model elements, deleting and editing existing elements
- generate a drawing from the bracket 3D model, add annotations into the drawing and adjust it.
Finally, you will create a simple assembly using three ready-made components: the Crank Handle. You will learn how to:
- add parts to the assembly,
- to place them in the graphic area,
- to assign matings to components,
- to add balloons to the assembly components,
- to generate the assembly drawing and edit it,
- to create a custom report style and generate the Bill of Materials based on this report style and linked to the assembly.
