Creating a Rotor Structure with an Uneven Air Gap Using SolidWorks
About Course
In this course, you’ll design a complete parametric rotor model with an uneven air gap using SolidWorks.
You will:
• Create the rotor lamination as a fully-parametric 3D part
• Build controlled eccentricity into the rotor geometry
• Add magnet slots, air slots, and all required cut-outs
• Create magnetic barriers and weight-reduction holes
• Assign global variables and equations to control every key parameter
• Generate a detailed 2D engineering drawing
• Export the model and drawing to IGES for FEA/FEM simulations
The workflow is based on the methodology described in the article
«Multi-Objective Optimization Design of a New Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Based on the Taguchi Method».
This course assumes basic SolidWorks knowledge.
If you’re new to SolidWorks, we recommend starting with “SolidWorks for Beginners
