About Course

In this course, you’ll design a parametric rotor structure with an uneven air gap in KOMPAS-3D.

You will:

  • create a rotor lamination sheet as a 3D part,
  • make the rotor eccentric,
  • add magnet slots and air slots,
  • add magnetic obstacles and lightening holes,
  • assign variables to parameters you need to control.
  • generate a 2D drawing and export it in the IGES format for FEM system calculations.

We’ll base our work on the article «Multi‐Objective Optimization Design of a New Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Based on the Taguchi Method».

This course assumes basic KOMPAS-3D knowledge. If you’re new to KOMPAS-3D, we recommend taking “KOMPAS-3D for Beginners”
